Cheerio Gardens: Take the Cheerio turnoff from the R71, 4km from Haenertsburg towards Tzaneen. Extensive gardens and grounds with walks. Excellent facilities including tea garden, picnic and braai facilities. Entrance fee charged. Open Wednesdays - Sundays.

Dap Naude Dam: Access roads off the R71. Picturesque site under the oak trees. Basic facilities.

Debegeni Falls: Access road off the R71 below Magoebaskloof. Picnic sites under shady indigenous trees next to spectacular waterfalls. Basic facilities. Entrance fee charged.

Duiwelskloof Waterfall and Picnic Site: From the Holiday Resort and Caravan Park follow the signs past the cemetery to the picnic spot.

Ebenezer Dam: Two picnic sites. Access to the one on the north shore by unmarked gravel road off the R71, 2km from Haenertsburg towards Tzaneen, with basic facilities and a slipway. Access to the other one above the dam wall from the gravel road, marked Ebenezer Dam, which links the R71 and the R528 (Georges Valley Road).

Magoebaskloof: A shaded picnic site and a viewpoint with parking on the roadside next to the R71. No facilities.

Magoebaskloof Dam: Situated on turnoff to the Magoebaskloof Dam on the R71. Basic facilities.

Modjadji Nature Reserve: Delightful picnic/braai site with good facilities.

Stanford Lake: Day visitor and campsites on lakeshore. Contact Stanford College.

Tzaneen Dam Nature Reserve: Next to Tzaneen Dam. Turn off R36 at Merensky High School. Day visitor and campsites next to dam. Boat slipway. Entrance fee charged.

Wegraakbos Dairy: Take the Cheerio turnoff from the R71, 4km from Haenertsburg towards Tzaneen. Picnicking on dairy farm where local cheese is made. Entrance fee charged.
